In a candid conversation, actor Alec Baldwin shared his heartfelt thoughts on parenting and acknowledged the indispensable role his daughters' mothers play in their upbringing. During an upcoming episode of Dr. Oz, the 30 Rock star expressed his gratitude to both his ex-wife, Kim Basinger, and his current wife, Hilaria Baldwin, for their dedication and expertise in raising their daughters, Ireland Baldwin and Carmen Baldwin. While Alec also has three sons with Hilaria, he emphasized the unique support young girls need from female role models to help navigate the complexities of life.
Alec Baldwin's Reflections on Parenting

At 60 years old, Alec Baldwin shared a poignant moment with Dr. Oz where he recounted a conversation with his daughter Ireland, now 23, about the challenges of dating. According to Page Six, Alec remembered a time when Ireland was much younger—around 15 or 16—and was beginning to date. He felt this was the perfect moment to impart some wisdom. "We were in the car, and I thought, 'This is it. It’s time for the birds and the bees talk, or maybe the birds and the bees and drinking in a bar kind of moment,'" Alec said. But as many parents can relate, Ireland wasn't exactly receptive to her dad's input.
A Tough but Necessary Conversation
Despite the awkwardness, Alec pressed on, determined to share his perspective. "She just stared out the window like, 'Oh, please, don't talk to me about this,'" Alec recalled. But he continued, emphasizing the importance of understanding the dynamics of relationships. "I told her, 'Men will say anything to get you to do what they want. That’s not the problem. The problem is, some of them are really good at it.'" As the conversation unfolded, Alec realized that while his intentions were good, Ireland might not have been ready to listen.
