"We always decorate the tree on Christmas Eve," he shared. "Then we have a big, delicious meal together." After dinner, the family gathers around for a cozy evening filled with warmth and laughter. "The grandkids put on their pajamas and hang up their stockings," Kurt added. "We light the fire, and when it gets dark, someone reads aloud from 'Twas the Night Before Christmas." A New Addition to the Family
This Christmas season holds extra significance for Kurt and Goldie, as they celebrate with six grandchildren instead of five. Goldie's daughter, Kate Hudson, welcomed her first daughter, Rani Rose, in October alongside her boyfriend, Danny Fujikawa. Kate, now 39, described the birth of her first girl as a monumental moment in her life. While Kurt may not admit it, he’s the one who dons the red suit and plays Santa each Christmas Eve. "Watching him transform into St. Nick is pretty special," says Oliver. "Even though he's getting up there in age, his enthusiasm never wavers." This year, the family's holiday spirit extends beyond their home to the screen with their new Netflix movie, The Christmas Chronicles, starring Kurt and Oliver. "I wanted to bring what was real about Santa from my family's history," Kurt explains. He dedicates his role as the jolly old man to his father, who was the epitome of Santa Claus. "Christmas was always shrouded in mystery and wonder," he reminisces. "We never knew if Dad really was Santa Claus."
