Meghan Markle's First Thanksgiving As A Royal: A Feast To Remember

They say you can take the girl out of America, but you can't take America out of the girl. And Meghan Markle is proving that saying true as she gears up to celebrate her first Thanksgiving as a member of the royal family. "She’s planning to host an all-American Thanksgiving feast at her new Kensington Palace apartment," a close friend of the Duchess revealed to Hollywood Life. "And she’s going to make everything from scratch." Now that's what I call dedication!

At 37, Meghan is all about embracing her new role as a newlywed and cherishing every moment with Prince Harry. According to the friend, "She’s an amazing cook and loves making big holiday dinners. Since Thanksgiving isn't celebrated in England, there are no plans for a royal dinner, so it's the perfect opportunity for her to bring a little piece of home to her new family." It's clear that Meghan isn't just bringing food to the table—she's bringing tradition, warmth, and a touch of Americana to her royal life.

Since marrying Harry in May, Meghan has made it clear that some traditions from her American roots are worth keeping alive. This Thanksgiving marks her first holiday as a royal, and she's ensuring it's special. However, not all royals will be in attendance—Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles won't be joining, as that "would be way too much pressure," according to the friend. But don’t worry, the guest list still includes some pretty big names.

Get ready for a star-studded celebration! Kate Middleton and Prince William are expected to join, bringing along their adorable trio—Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and baby Prince Louis. Newlyweds Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank will also be part of the festivities, alongside "a few of Harry’s good friends and their families." It's shaping up to be a proper Thanksgiving feast, blending the charm of British royalty with the warmth of American tradition.

According to an insider, the soon-to-be mom is planning to whip up all the classic Thanksgiving dishes herself. Back in 2016, Meghan shared a now-deleted Instagram post showing her roasting a perfect Thanksgiving turkey. "Oh, that time I roasted a pretty perfect Thanksgiving turkey! The question is, can I do it again? The pressure is on!" she wrote in the caption. Looks like Meghan's culinary skills are about to be put to the test.

    Meghan’s Energy and Excitement

Hosting a foreign holiday for your in-laws and family for the first time might sound intimidating, but we have no doubt that the former Suits star will nail it. Despite Harry, 34, being "a bit worried about her overdoing it, considering she’s pregnant," Meghan is reportedly "full of energy" and "very excited to be doing this dinner for her new royal family." Plus, if this dinner goes well, maybe Meghan can start hosting more often. She’s been known to love "Sunday suppers," telling Today in 2016, "The idea of gathering for a hearty meal with friends and family on a Sunday makes me feel comforted." With her love for family dinners, it’s no surprise she wants to make Thanksgiving a lasting tradition.

As we look forward to Meghan’s first Thanksgiving as British royalty, we can’t help but hope she enjoys it because next year, she’ll be celebrating as a mom! Here's to Meghan bringing her American spirit to the royal table.
