How the Paisleys Got the Idea for The Store
Here’s the backstory: Brad, who’s 45, and Kimberly, 47, came up with the idea after taking their two sons, Huck Paisley, 11, and Jasper Paisley, 9, to volunteer with low-income families around Thanksgiving. "It was inspiring because these people have dignity," Brad shared. "It’s not like something out of Oliver Twist. These people are able to sit there and feel very, very normal in the eyes of their kids. I remember thinking, ‘Why isn’t this everywhere?’" Kimberly added, "These folks haven’t made major mistakes; they just need a little extra help, and we want to be a resource for those people.”
Aiming for Self-Sufficiency
While Brad and Kimberly are super excited about the success of The Store, they don’t want it to become a long-term crutch for their customers. Brad explained, "We want this to be a temporary Band-Aid on the road to self-sufficiency." The couple hopes to serve around 3,000 people per year with their nonprofit business and is working closely with government agencies to identify deserving customers.

Construction Plans and Funding
The Paisleys are aiming to start building The Store in Nashville in 2019. According to The Tennessean, about $500,000 is required to begin construction, and the entire project is estimated to cost around $1.2 million. Brad and Kimberly are committed to jumpstarting the project’s funding campaign with a generous donation of their own.
