Gisele Bündchen Opens Up About Motherhood Struggles And Finding Balance

Let’s talk about something real—motherhood isn’t always sunshine and roses, and Gisele Bündchen knows this firsthand. The supermodel, mom of two, and stepmom to another, has been candid about the challenges she faced when stepping into her role as a parent. In a recent interview with People, Gisele shares her journey of self-discovery and the emotional rollercoaster that comes with raising kids while maintaining a successful career.

From Independence to Motherhood: Gisele’s Journey

When Gisele became a mother, she admits it was a transformative experience—but not always in the way she expected. “When I became a mom, I kind of lost myself. It was like a part of me died,” the 38-year-old explained. Gisele, who was once fiercely independent, found herself grappling with a new identity. “It was all about me before. But now, I had this little being, and suddenly, I felt like I couldn’t do other things. That was very hard for me,” she continued. Despite her lifelong dream of becoming a mother, the reality hit her harder than anticipated. “It’s a shock when you actually experience it,” Gisele revealed.

Finding Balance Between Career and Family

Gisele didn’t let motherhood completely overshadow her career, but balancing both hasn’t been easy. As the mom of Benjamin, 8, and Vivian, 5, and stepmom to Tom Brady’s son Jack, 11, she’s faced her fair share of guilt. “I had all this horrible, self-imposed guilt. I thought, ‘What a terrible mother I am for leaving my child even for a day,’” she confessed. Even when she brought her kids along to work, the guilt persisted. “I was feeling guilty for that too. Like, ‘Here we are on a plane and the baby is crying,’” Gisele added. It’s a sentiment many working parents can relate to.

Gisele also opened up about how motherhood has affected her nearly decade-long marriage to football star Tom Brady. “You’re overwhelmed and tired, and then you’re not the nicest partner,” she admitted. Parenthood can be exhausting, and sometimes, it takes a toll on relationships. But Gisele and Tom have learned to support each other through the ups and downs. “When someone you love is happy, it makes you happy, or if they’re sad, it makes you sad. You suffer with them and you have joy with them,” she said, highlighting the importance of empathy and understanding in a partnership.
