She’s stepping away for a moment! Amid the whirlwind of family drama, the Duchess of Sussex, Meghan Markle, has reportedly taken a much-needed break by heading to Toronto all by herself—leaving her husband, Prince Harry, behind in London.
On Sunday, Aug. 19, The Mirror reported, citing the royal news hub Royal Central, that Meghan, 37, boarded an Air Canada flight to Toronto. Before taking off, Kensington Palace sent a letter to the airline with her detailed itinerary and strict instructions. They specifically requested that no one take her picture or approach her during the flight. It’s clear they wanted this trip to remain as low-key as possible.
Meghan’s First Solo International Trip Since Becoming a Royal
This trip to Canada marks Meghan's very first solo international journey since she officially became part of the British royal family by marrying Prince Harry, 33, back in mid-May. While the exact reason behind her visit remains a mystery, many believe Meghan is simply taking some time off from her demanding royal duties. There’s also speculation that she might be visiting her close friend, Jessica Mulroney, and her family.
