Prince Harry And Meghan Markle Open Up About Their Royal Pet Peeve

Let’s be honest, doesn’t this just make Prince Harry and Meghan Markle feel so much more relatable? According to Redbook magazine, during a recent event, the couple—Harry, 33, and Meghan, 37—shared one of their biggest annoyances with the public, and honestly, who can blame them? Imagine being under constant scrutiny, where every move you make is captured and dissected by the world. That’s a lot to handle!

While chatting with a young boy named Mckenzie at the WellChild Awards on September 6, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex revealed a part of their life that truly gets under their skin: the relentless camera flashes. Let’s face it, having your picture snapped constantly must get old after a while, right? It’s a reality that many of us can relate to, even if we’re not in the royal spotlight.

Mckenzie’s mom couldn’t stop raving about how down-to-earth the couple was. “They were so lovely,” she reportedly told Hello! magazine. “They noticed that Mckenzie was shy around the cameras and empathized with him, saying they didn’t like the cameras either. They turned around to make him feel more comfortable. They even told him he was amazing and encouraged him to keep being himself. They reminded him to take care of his mom too. This is something he’ll never forget, even though he’s only four years old.”

Harry’s Longstanding Struggles with Royal Life

This isn’t the first time Harry has spoken candidly about the challenges of royal life. Back in the summer of 2017, he admitted that he once felt the need to step away from the British royal family. “There was a time I felt I wanted out,” he confessed. “But then I decided to stay in [the monarchy] and work out a role for myself.”

Imagine being in Harry’s shoes. You’re born into a life of privilege, but it comes with a heavy price tag—constant media attention, public scrutiny, and the weight of tradition. Who wouldn’t feel like they needed a break at some point?
