Every singer was influenced in some way by the way she sang, and they will forever be influenced by her because of her voice, her emotion. On Monday, August 13, reporter Harry Hairston shared a somber update on social media. “Spoke with a close friend of Aretha Franklin and family. Iconic singer not doing well,” he wrote. By Thursday, August 16, her family released an emotional statement confirming her passing.
