Hey there, friends! You might be wondering, is Carrie Underwood having a boy or a girl this time around? Well, the singer knows the gender of her second baby, but she's keeping it under wraps—for now. During a recent appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the country music superstar opened up about her baby-to-be but didn’t spill the beans just yet. Let me tell you, it was a delightful chat filled with laughter and mystery.
Carrie Keeps It Close to the Vest
At 35, Carrie Underwood isn’t one to rush into revealing everything. In her interview with Ellen, she shared why she loves keeping some things private. "We like to kind of just hold onto things for a minute," she said with a smile. "I feel like everybody just knows everything about everybody, so we just like to have a little secret for a little while." That’s right, folks—Carrie and her husband, Mike Fisher, are all about savoring the mystery and joy of pregnancy before sharing the big news with the world.

Ellen’s Clever Guessing Game
Now, Ellen DeGeneres is no stranger to a good guessing game, and she was determined to figure out whether Carrie's new baby would be a boy or a girl. With a twinkle in her eye, Ellen guessed, "When you come back here and we talk about it after it’s a little girl, I’ll say it was a girl." But she didn’t stop there. She added, "You did say it was a whole new ‘ball game,’ which indicates it could be a boy. It’s either a girl or a boy… I do think it’s a girl though. I can see it in your eyes." And perhaps Carrie’s choice of a pink jacket during the interview gave Ellen an extra hint!

Carrie’s Playful Response
Carrie quickly caught onto Ellen's clever strategy, realizing her friend was trying to get her to slip up and reveal the baby’s gender. "It’s a different ball game. I feel like I didn’t look pregnant and then I woke up and I looked like this," Carrie joked. "So I feel like the second one is just… I feel like you’re just trying to get me to talk about it so I’ll say ‘he’ or ‘she.’" Talk about staying one step ahead! Carrie isn’t about to let anyone pull the wool over her eyes.
Of course, Carrie and Mike already have a three-year-old son named Isaiah Fisher, who was born in February 2015. Carrie gushed about her firstborn, saying, "I think he’ll be a really good big brother. I think he’ll be helpful." It’s clear that Carrie is excited about Isaiah getting a sibling and becoming a big brother.

Carrie’s Upcoming Tour and Motherhood
Just last month, Carrie took to Instagram to announce her second pregnancy and confirm the launch of her Cry Pretty 360 tour next May. This won’t be the first time Carrie brings a little one along for the ride—she previously brought Isaiah on her Storyteller tour when he was just 11 months old. But this time around, her second baby will be a newborn when the tour kicks off next spring. "It’s going to be a different ball game, for sure," Carrie told The Tennessean. "My brain, I’m such a planner. I want to know how it’s all going to go. But no matter who you are, you make it happen, you make it work, you get your team behind you."
