My dream was to become a professional dancer. But life wasn’t easy. For years, I struggled, often broke, and unsure of what the future held. Eventually, I decided to audition for musical theater roles." Her story is one of resilience and determination, but it also highlighted how Aretha's music became a pivotal part of her journey.

Madonna continued her story, recalling a pivotal moment in her career. "One day, a French disco sensation needed backup singers and dancers for his world tour. I thought, 'Why not? The worst that could happen is going back to my third-floor walkup, which was also a crackhouse.' That’s right, I’m a Rebel Heart," she joked. The audition was a turning point, but it wasn't without its challenges. "The dance audition went well, but then they asked if I had sheet music and a song prepared. I panicked. Fortunately, one of my favorite albums was Lady Soul by Aretha Franklin. I blurted out, 'You Make Me Feel... (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman.'"
