Pippa recently shared her thoughts on her go-to workout in a heartfelt column for Waitrose Kitchen. Now, at 34, she's in her third trimester, and she’s got a routine that works wonders for her. "Swimming throughout pregnancy offers a wonderful feeling of weightlessness," she wrote. "As the months go by, you feel heavier every single day, but being in water gives you that floating, light-as-air sensation. It's such a relief for your body, counteracts the increased back strain, and stretches your legs, which is crucial with that growing bump. Plus, it’s super gentle and relaxing!"

Swimming, she explained, doesn’t require much adjustment as you progress through your pregnancy. "You don’t need to adapt and change too much (unlike most other sports). It’s so beneficial that you could swim every day — as long as you don’t overdo it — right up until the end of the third trimester,” she added.
Pippa's Journey to Motherhood
Pippa and her husband, James Matthews, have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of their first child. After months of speculation, she finally confirmed the news in early June. "I was lucky to pass the 12-week scan without suffering from morning sickness. That meant I was able to carry on as normal,” she shared in another heartfelt post for Waitrose Kitchen. But of course, pregnancy brings its own set of challenges, and Pippa has been adjusting her routine accordingly.
“When I learned the happy news that I was pregnant, I realized I needed to tweak my 4 to 5-day-a-week exercise routine,” she confessed. “I’ve noticed my body change and my weight increase, but through effective exercise and sports, I feel that my body has been strengthened to support a healthy pregnancy, birth, and recovery. And let’s be honest, I want to make sure that my favorite jeans will still fit me after the baby arrives!”
