According to a recent report, insiders at Buckingham Palace have started referring to the Duchess of Sussex as “Di 2.” This nickname stems from the uncanny resemblance between Meghan and the late Princess Diana, Prince Harry's beloved mother. A source close to the royal household revealed to Vanity Fair, “The Duchess is affectionately referred to as ‘Di 2’ because of the striking similarities between her and Harry’s mom. It’s meant with great admiration, and I think it’s quite fitting—there’s a lot they have in common.”
The Fashion Connection: How Meghan's Style Mirrors Diana's
It’s not just the palace staff who have noticed the resemblance. Renowned royal photographer Mark Stewart shared his thoughts, saying, “When I photograph Meghan, I’m often reminded of Diana. Their fashion choices are remarkably alike. Meghan has a knack for great tailoring and bold colors, much like Diana did. I remember photographing Diana in Japan, where she wore a stunning red and white spotted outfit. Meghan’s wardrobe choices on her recent tour, especially the red dress she wore in Tonga, were pure Diana—paying homage to the island's national colors without even saying a word.”
Stewart continued, “It’s been a long time since we’ve seen a royal presence like Diana’s. Meghan exudes the same level of confidence in front of the camera that Diana did, along with a shared love for high-fashion and top designers. Diana favored Versace, while Meghan leans toward Givenchy. Their styles are very much alike—classic, elegant, and full of bold colors.”
